A microchip does not contain a battery and is designed to last for the lifetime of the pet. Under normal circumstances, it does not need to be replaced or re-implanted. However, if a microchip is dislodged or lost, A new microchip may be implanted after scanning and verification by a veterinaria

A microchip is not a GPS device and cannot track a pet in real time. It serves as a unique identification number that can be read with a microchip scanner. If a lost pet is found and scanned at a veterinary clinic, government agency, or animal shelter, the 15-digit microchip number can be used to retrieve the owner’s information from the registered database. When scanned through the AnyVet system, veterinarians can send an SMS notification to the pet owner immediately, helping reunite pets with their owners more quickly

Pets must be implanted with a 15-digit microchip compliant with ICAR and ISO 11784/11785 international standards. AnyVet microchips meet these requirements and are suitable for international pet travel. Pet owners do not need to register on the AnyVet website or with AnyVet by themselves. The veterinary clinic that implants the microchip will complete the pet registration on behalf of the owner. However, the microchip must comply with ISO 11784/11785 international standards to ensure compatibility with standard scanners.
