Login and Security
AnyVet Smart handles clinical and operational data, so users need to understand the login flow and basic session security before they begin working.
Who Should Read This
- Users receiving their account for the first time
- Users who need to reset their password
- Staff who log in from shared or public workstations
Login Flow
Step 1. Open the login page
Go to the login URL provided by your administrator.
Step 2. Enter account credentials
- Enter your email address.
- Enter your password.
- If two-factor authentication is enabled for the account, complete the additional verification step.
The current login form uses an email + password combination.
If two-factor authentication is required
- Enter a code from your
Authenticator App (TOTP). - Or choose
Email Codeand enter the verification code sent to email.
Step 3. Confirm the post-login context
After login, confirm the following:
- The active branch context is correct
- The visible menu matches your role
- The dashboard or default landing screen loads normally
Note: If you see fewer menus than expected, the cause is usually access control or a feature that is disabled for the current plan or branch.
When You Need to Reset a Password
- Select the password reset link on the login page.
- Enter the email address linked to the account.
- Open the reset link from the email.
- Set and confirm the new password.
- Log in again and complete two-factor verification if the account requires it.
Security Rules for Shared PCs
- Always log out when the session ends.
- Do not allow the browser to save passwords.
- If you logged in from an external device, confirm the session is no longer active after use.
Warning: If work is performed under another user's account, audit logs and accountability become unreliable.
Session Notes
- Idle sessions may time out automatically.
- When the session expires, the user must log in again.
- Before sensitive work, it is safer to confirm the current account and branch context one more time.
